Elysano is free and reader-supported. Amazon links on this page are affiliate links: as an Amazon Associate, Elysano earns from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. We link to searches rather than single listings because sellers, stock and prices change constantly — always check the listing says ESC/POS and the right paper width.
What makes a printer work with Elysano
- ESC/POS. The printer must understand the ESC/POS command set and its
GS v 0raster image command. Practically every cheap 58 mm and 80 mm receipt printer does; label printers that use ZPL, TSPL or CPCL do not. - USB, in a Chromium browser. USB printers work in Chrome, Edge and Brave on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS and Android (with a USB OTG adapter). Windows needs a one-time driver switch — see the setup guide.
- Or Bluetooth Low Energy (beta). The browser can only talk to BLE printers. Many Bluetooth receipt printers use “classic” Bluetooth (SPP), which browsers cannot reach — if a listing says “Bluetooth 4.0 BLE” or “dual mode”, it has a better chance. Cat-style mini printers (GB01, GB02, MX05…) are BLE and supported in beta.
- Network-only printers (Ethernet or Wi-Fi with no USB port) cannot be reached from a web page.
Recommended printer types
Paper
Thermal paper has a heat-sensitive coating on one side only. Buy rolls that match your printer's width and do not exceed its maximum roll diameter (it is in the manual or on the label inside the lid).
Setup notes by printer
Your printer isn't listed? If it is an ESC/POS receipt printer with USB, it will very likely work — just try a test print. Tell us how it went via the contact page and we'll add it here.
