Terms of Use & Ad Disclosure

Plain language. No tricks.

The short version. Elysano is a free web app for printing images to USB thermal receipt printers. We don't charge anything. To cover hosting and operational costs we display advertisements on the page. We don't collect your images, we don't store your data, and you use the app at your own risk.

1. What Elysano is

Elysano (the "Service") is a free, browser-based application that lets you upload an image and send it directly to a USB thermal receipt printer using your browser's WebUSB API. All image processing happens locally in your browser. We do not receive, store, or transmit your images or print data.

2. Free to use

The Service is provided free of charge. There is no subscription, no paywall, and no premium tier. You may use it personally or commercially without any licence fee. The source of the Service is delivered as a static website with no backend account system.

3. Advertising

To cover hosting, domain registration, bandwidth, and the cost of keeping the Service available, we display third-party advertisements on the pages of the Service. These ads may be delivered by Google AdSense or other ad networks. By using the Service you acknowledge and accept that:

4. Privacy

The Service itself does not require an account, does not log image uploads, and does not transmit your printable content to any server. Your images and ESC/POS commands move directly from your browser to your USB printer.

For aggregate visitor analytics we use Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect non-personally-identifying information such as your approximate location, device type, referring page, and which pages you visit on the Service. We use this only to understand traffic patterns and improve the Service. You can opt out at any time using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

The Service runs on Vercel, which collects standard server access logs (IP address, request path, timestamps) for hosting purposes. Embedded advertising networks may also collect data as described in section 3.

5. WebUSB and your device

To send data to your printer, the Service uses the browser's WebUSB API. You must explicitly grant the Service permission to communicate with a USB device using your browser's native picker dialog. You can revoke this permission at any time from your browser settings.

You are responsible for ensuring your printer is compatible (ESC/POS) and for any consequences of sending commands to your device.

6. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every printer model.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including damage to your printer, loss of printer paper, missed print jobs, or any business losses.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Contact

Questions or concerns about these terms can be sent through the GitHub repository linked from the project. There is no support obligation, but reasonable issues are read.
